I converted a 12’x10’ shed
to 30’x5’ in 2005.
The following July, while
slabbing a footpath, I
noticed a bit of concrete
just under the surface. I
tried to lift it, and it was
a bit difficult, so I dug
around and found it sloped
downwards. A month later,
I had a cubic metre of
Cotswold stone, all the
earth in image 12, and what
looks like an ancient skate
park.
The decked area had been
built three years before,
overlapping what has
turned out to be a Koi pond.

Future plans are to create
a sunken pond fed by a
small “stream” feature,
with a fernery and
exotic plants...
